Bug in iPod/iTunes - iPod crashes when playing podcasts

I'm not a big tech toy guy, money and our budget really doesn't allow for it.  Recently I got an iPod.  I'm impressed by how much information I can get through now.  In my short commute to work and back I typically get through a podcast from a christian financial show I listen to.  I listen to .NET podcasts on while on the treadmill.  I now enjoy long drives because I can kill two birds with one stone, driving and learning.

I ran into an issue though on my iPod where it was rebooting when I would play certain podcasts.  This morning I went to fix it and found through a series forums and blog posts that there is a problem with the equalizer in the iPod.  Apparently many podcasts are recorded in mono.  When the equalizer is turned on, the iPod can't handle it on certain podcasts and reboots.

I'm posting this here so hopefully it could help someone else who may stumble upon this blog with a similar issue.

Why I have a blog

I'm sitting here at my desk, having just started a spec, thinking to myself how important this doc is and that I want to write it well.  Got me thinking about writing skills, and I came across an article that I read some time ago, which if I remember correctly, was the reason I started this blog:

"I think it's because so many people don't like to write. Staring at a blank screen is horribly frustrating. Personally, I overcame my fear of writing by taking a class in college that required a 3-5 page essay once a week. Writing is a muscle. The more you write, the more you'll be able to write. If you need to write specs and you can't, start a journal, create a weblog, take a creative writing class, or just write a nice letter to every relative and college roommate you've blown off for the last 4 years. Anything that involves putting words down on paper will improve your spec writing skills. If you're a software development manager and the people who are supposed to be writing specs aren't, send them off for one of those two week creative writing classes in the mountains."
