Validation of Entity objects.

When working with entity objects the need of validating object members occurs. Especially when sending entity object through layers or while saving data to databases, validation is important. I’m now working on an Entity Validation library.

The idea is to tag the entity members with Attributes and then run the entire entity class through a validation method. The validation method then throws exceptions if the validation fails.

Is Microsoft Commerce Server dead?

Why do I have this feeling that Microsoft Commerce Server is Dead? No one is writing about it, last posting on MSDN are from december 2003. I found only 2 books, about CS2002, and when I talk to persons i Microsoft, I get the impression that CS has very low priority. And when I try to use the CS .NET Class library, several of the method throws NotImplementedExeption. This is not fun :(

Are there anyone out there using the .NET version?

Bindable entity objects.

I just posted an article about how to build entity objects with designer support in Visual Studio.NET. Hope this article is usefull.

Welcome to my atmosphere!

This is my first blog entry, and hopefully my least interesting one. My name is Roy Tore Gurskevik and I’m a senior consultant working for Objectware in Oslo, Norway.

My career in the consulting business, started 7 years ago, when I started my own company. I started with Oracle and Oracle Web technology, and have written numberless code lines in PL/SQL.  The evolution led me form Oracle to Microsoft technologies and Active Server Pages and now to .NET.  My experiences with .NET goes back to Beta 1 release of Visual Studio .NET and I am enjoying very moment.

As a senior consultant, I primarily work with web related projects, and these days as Solution Architect and Lead Developer on a b2b e-commerce solution build on Commerce Server 2002 and ASP.NET.

I hope you will enjoy my contribution, when I now release my blog here at .NET Junkies.

Best regards,
Roy Tore Gurskevik
