Not exactly Beta 2 of Visual Studio 2005 "Whidbey" yet, but we can all download the latest preview editions of the Express versions of Visual Basic.Net 2005, C# 2005 and Visual Web Developer 2005!
For Beta 2 of Visual Studio 2005, we'll probably have to wait another month or more. I hear the team is expecting to hit the "zero bug bounce" in about 3 weeks...
Google has just released their Google Desktop, a really great search engine for your PC. It installed without a hitch on my machine, and took about a day to fully index my hard disks (but you can already search while it is building up the index). Searches are superfast, and it uses the same familiar interface as their Web-based search!
Really cool stuff.
More cool stuff, which I'll review soon: JetBrains' awesome add-in for Visual Studio.Net, ReSharper. A super-timesaver if ever there was one.
And yes, tonight is the 2nd Edition of the Belgian Geek Dinner, at De Pelgrom in Antwerp. We'll start with drinks in this medieval cellar, then have dinner in De Pelgrom's medieval restaurant, De Groote Ganz. See you there, 8 PM sharp! Hi all, it seems that the general concensus is that Friday is a better day for Belgium's geek community ;-) So let's all enjoy ourselves over a nice meal, great drinks and likewise atmosphere at De Pelgrom, Pelgrimstraat, 2000 Antwerp at 8 PM. That's very close to the Grote Markt -- a 2-minute walk, even. And nearby there are a lot of places to continue the event deep into the night.
