Powerset Official announcement about Microsoft's acquisition of Powerset.
Powerset is a new search algorithm that brings an
understanding of the intent and meaning behind the words. It's still in beta and I've been using it, but up till now it just indexes Wikipedia. Powerset's reach will grow to indexing blogs, forums and pages from all around the WWW.
Powerset will join our core Search Relevance team, remaining intact in San Francisco. Powerset brings with it natural language technology that nicely complements other natural language processing technologies we have in Microsoft Research. Powerset joins Live Search
