New Web Sites Seeking Profit in Wiki Model

Wikipedia has inspired a slue of new user generated websites with huge audiences and advertising revue.

Wiki.com recently sold for $2.86 Million, that in itself will generate more interest in Wikis!

The NYT's article failed to mention Ward Cunningham, the inventor of the Wiki and Ross Mayfield the Wiki Master of Socialtext.

Hanging-out with Ward C was a highlight for me at last years Web 2.0 conference and I had breakfast with Ross just a few hours after the late-night Socialtext party.
