WCF Track

I stumbled into a WCF Track today at Visual Studio Connections when after a great talk by Billie Hollis on the Windows Workflow Foundation I decided to stay in my seat to listen to Juval Lowy's primer on Programming Windows Communications Foundation.

Juval stated that this will be the communications foundation we will use for the rest of our lives....TCP is forever  and after what I saw today.....I'm inclined to agree with him.

Shy Cohen the Community Program manager for WCF at Microsoft was in the back of the room to plug his talk after lunch and to answer any questions we might have.....no one was handing out a bring back Com petition and Bill Vaughn is here. Shy told me this is the tenth version of the WCF, his team has been through it all from Com to Remoteing and they have learned much.

So, I kept my seat for Juval's WCF Operations and Calls talk, then after lunch I listened intently to Shy's WCF Writing Reliable and Transacted Distributed Applications.

Some great resources include Shy's blog, Juval's Idesign where he will be posting the slides and demo's from todays talks. The Windows Communications Foundation Dev Center is the place to go for downloads and news about the growing community.

With the WCF you can talk to anybody on any system, can World Peace be far off?
