Today Sun announced the Sun Fire X4100 and X4200 servers that will redefine industry-standard x64 systems by offering customers better system performance and more efficient power usage powered by the AMD Opteron processor. Sun is again setting the industry standard for innovation - from a new desktop strategy, Solaris momentum and these new x64 servers designed to turbocharge the enterprise.
I don't understand why the Microsoft Vista Team will not commit to 64bit. Technology and innovation is about looking forward, who would upgrade to 32bit Windows Vista? I asked that question to the Windows Vista Team at WinHEC and the answer I got was enthusiasts, but computer enthusiasts have already upgraded to 64bit computing. Let’s hope someone takes the lead at the PDC.
