Hear Bill Gates Discuss the Future of Windows Mobile

Windows Mobile 2005

I'm sitting all alone in the Press room at MEDC thinking what could possibly be the BIG announcement tomorrow. A new device? A new partner? A new web service? All this thinking has made me very thirsty, so I grab a bottle of spring water, it has a green label with Microsoft MEDC Mobile and Embedded DevCon 2005 and below that it reads: Cingular...raising the bar. So would I be going too far out on a limb in thinking that tomorrow Microsoft will launch Windows Mobile 2005 along with their new partner Cingular wireless? Have I scooped the busy body Tech press on this one?

It is looking like the SMT 5600 smartphone from Audiovox will be the first smartphone loaded with Windows Mobile 2005. The SMT 5600 originally was introduced by AT&T wireless but AT&T sold their wireless business to Cingular, then Cingular droped it. Now it's back and I hope to find one in my Windows Mobile 2005 launch bag tomorrow!
