Syndicate reached a crescendo late this afternoon as Doc Searls gave a brilliant closing Keynote. I saw Doc many times durning the conference banging away on his laptop and I would ask “Doc are you blogging this”? “No, I'm writing my speech” was always his reply, then he would bounce some ideas off of me as he was trying to come up with something to encapsulate the themes and subtext of Syndicate .
Doc entertained, informed and affirmed why we had all spent the last two days on the fifth floor of this Times Square Hotel.
Found: stupidest damn elevators on Earth.
I was reminded of Jeffery Zeldman's Keynote at SXSW and I wish Jeffery could have been here. Jason Kottke should have been here as well, he's ready and able for a Keynote. I would have loved to have heard more from Charlene Li and that Scobleizer, we could have found a spot for them to shine.
Doc is a uniter in a field of many divisions, the clue train has left the station and we're all onboad.
