PubSub Announces THE STRUCTURED BLOGGING intiative
PubSub, the essential tool for anyone tracking what people are saying about the topics they care about, today announced the launch of Structured Blogging, a foundation that provides a means to include tags in web pages and blog postings that clearly identifies structured data as rich data, rather than simple text.
It’s all about XML, it slices, it dices, it serves up the information you need when you need it. Syndication has started a revolution in content delivery, RSS got us here and ATOM will get us further.
Tags are exciting; anyone who has used Flickr knows the power of Tags to grab what you need when you need it. I’ll never forget the morning after Vloggercon when I awoke to find my photos everywhere because I used a Tag, I didn’t have to tell anyone where they were, they just found them!
Users can start building applications on top of it. Because it’s an XML format and embedded in both the HTML blog and the syndicated feed, applications can run in web browsers; aggregators; or web services. Cool!
