Windows CE Community

The Windows CE leadership Team gets it!

For the first time ever at an Embedded DevCon I heard the words community and blog!

This is a great time to begin to learning how to program devices with Windows CE 5.0 because the Team is now truly committed to help build a community much as we have done with MSDN.

We just had a great meeting with the Windows CE leadership Team, they all flew out to Las Vegas to meet the community and let be known that they will do everything they can to help the community grow and evolve.

So go and check-out the newsgroups, read the blogs and most of all listen to the fantastic Podcasts from MEDC!

Software brings devices to life

It’s Windows Mobile 2005 announced in the past hour by Microsoft’s Chief Software Architect himself, Bill Gates.

Microsoft is reaching out to developers in the Mobile space; it’s no different then the days of DOS and then Windows. When it comes to the Mobile space “the sky is the limit” say’s Bill and I believe him, it’s going to change the way we communicate with machines and people.

Microsoft is making it easier and easier to develop software for devices; Visual Studio 2005 includes most of the tools we will need to enter this area. In today’s Keynote I heard that Windows Mobile 2005 will have GPS functionality and you will be able to use pictures as contacts.

After all is said and done it still comes down to developers to innovate, Microsoft provides the platform and the tools we interject the creativity that will bring devices to life.

MEDC Keynote

MEDC Keynote: Less than two hours to go...

The MEDC Keynote gets started in about two hours – the keynote demo crew have been ‘on site’ since 6:30am for final a run through of the demos, so far, everything is working perfectly (famous last words!) – I have my trusty video camera with me behind the stage and have captured some video of the setup (which is incredible) and some interviews with the demo crew – look out for the Podcast video (RSS Feed) hopefully later today.
