Google Eyes

Just yesterday as Microsoft was making their Live Windows Live announcement I got a gmail email reply from a friend in Oaxaca Mexico. I had sent him a gmail email a few hours earlier asking if he had any idea as to why Aero Mexico had stopped flying to Oaxaca. He didn’t know why, but the Google ads on the side gave me links to all the Mexican airlines.

If I get angry enough will they bring me links to Lawyers? Will revealing that I had a headache give me links to pain pills and if I write this is driving me crazy generate links to stress counselors and Psychologists?

Back in 1995 it was hard to think of a way to make money on the Internet, but of course back in 1920 it was just as hard to think of a way to make money on the radio. Who would have thought that everybody would be on the Internet by 2005 and advertising everything to all those eyeballs would be the way to go.

I’m doing it myself and thanks to everyone who has clicked on my blog ads, please click frequently so I can get back to Oaxaca and blog from an Internet café or just access my files via Windows Live from a cell phone or my Pocket PC.

Did you know that Microsoft already has 10% of all Internet ad revenue? Hotmail is a big money maker, you know well those banner ads on the top and on the right hand side of your inbox. MSN Messenger has more ads then I have bandwidth to support and soon they will be offering Skype type phone calls. Windows Live will have more services with more ads and when we get sick of the ads and can't live without the service we can upgrade to the pay model.
