Community Server : Forums 2.0

Rob announced the official release of the first piece of Telligent SystemsCommunity Server line, Community Server :: Forums

This is a major upgrade to v1.0 and will be a major part of a lot of cool stuff in the future. You can read some more release notes here (as well as see a demo) and download the bits over here.

Many of my BlogBrothers will be there this year,  Brian, DonXML, ScottW, Bill, Miguel, Keith and Sandy (yes Paul, you may have convinced me despite your painful jabs at my still-maturing Baltimore Orioles baseball team) Sandy is giving the Keynote on Wednesday and the Orioles begin a four game series in the Bronx on Thursday...should be fun!

Last week Microsoft acquired Lookout Software LLC, the best way to search your Outlook folders for that email you know you received sometime ago....

Now Microsoft has made Lookout 1.2 available to download.

"Lookout has developed an innovative technology for searching e-mail that is aligned with our own MSN Search efforts," said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of MSN. NY/NJ SharePoint UG

The inaugural meeting of the NY/NJ SharePoint Users Group is tonight at Microsoft’s New Jersey Office.

The purpose of the user group is to bring the local SharePoint community together to share tips, tricks, and ideas on the uses of SharePoint Portal Server. The user group features SharePoint experts from Microsoft, Microsoft Partners, and the SharePoint user community. Everyone who works with, or is thinking of working with SharePoint will likely learn something . The user group is targeted towards end users, administrators, implementers, and developers.

The fun begins at 7pm and we might finish by 8:30. Everyone is invited as I don’t want to be the only one there! Collaboration makes us all look good.
