BizTalk Deployment Pain Points

Well, it has been quite a while since I last posted anything here. Havent been doing much Biztalk actually. Lots of other general stuff but no development work. I hope that changes soon.

Anyway, I recently came across a note from Martin Hellspong about BizTalk Deployment Pain Points. This was in response to comments solicited for the TechEd 2005 Connected Systems track on Rebecca Dias' weblog.

Reading the issues made me really worried. We are starting out on some large scale BizTalk projects now and can do without this kind of trouble when it comes to deployment. I hope that the MS answer is not on the lines of "BizTalk 2006 will solve all your problems (trumpets sound and angels sing :-) !!) ". These just have to be fixed for this version or at least some work-arounds suggested. Some of the issues relate to deployment of pipeline-only assemblies or schema-only assemblies. This kind of solution structuring seems to be quite common as it facilitates maintenance. However, if it will introduce probs in deployment, then MS needs to make that very clear.

Have any of you come across those issues before and do you have any workarounds? Do let me know if you have.
