Microsoft hat angekündigt am ersten Tag der Microsoft Professional Developers Conference 2003 (PDC), den 27. Oktober 2003, ein "Longhorn" Developer Center auf MSDN zu starten. Dort werden Artikel und Diskussionsforen zum nächsten Microsoft Windows-Betriebssystem (Codename: Longhorn) zur Verfügung stehen.

Dies behauptet zumindest Roger Ebert, welcher diesen Tend in den Kinofilmen der letzten Jahre bemerkt haben will. Demnach sollen die "Bösen" in Kinofilmen wie "24", "Austin Powers" und "Legally Blond" PCs verwenden, wobei die guten "schicke" Apple-Computer einsetzen.
