I just got this mail from the Windows Live Mail team:
Thanks so much for your interest in Windows Live™ Mail beta
This is kind of embarrassing to admit, but we have a bug that won’t allow us to make the Windows Live Mail beta available to you at this time. We know it stinks but, if we set you up with this beta, there is a risk that you might lose some of the best stuff that comes with your MSN® Hotmail® Plus account. We are working hard to get this bug resolved and once it is, we will send you a mail and move you to the beta.
Best regards,
The Windows Live Mail beta team
2005 was a big year, both for me as a person and as a developer. The purpose of this post is to summarize the last year and set the goals for this new year.
2005
This was en very big year. Many things happed, both personal and as a developer. First of all, I became 20 years old which let me buy strong alcohol drinks here in Swedem. ;)
On the developer side a lot of things happend. The biggest thing this year must have been the PDC. I remember the PDC in 2003, I got so excited I couldn´t sleep for days. But this is the greatest thing ever. Sparkle, Cider, WinFX in general, WinFS, Vista, Office 12 etc, etc.. I go crazy when I think about it. Wish I were there..
The release of Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and the .NET Framework 2.0 were the biggest full version releases this year.
2006
Wow! This year is going to be the biggest year ever! I have so many plans, and when it comes to all the new products that is going to be released this year.. wopah!
We can expect to see products like Internet Explorer 7, Windows Media Player 11, Windows Defender, Windows One Care, Office 12, Exchange 12, WinFX (WPF, WCF and WWF) and last, but not least Windows Vista!
This year is going to be so great. I cant wait to gwet my hand on sparkle so I can make those sexy applications. :)
- And some personal todo's.. First of all, I need to get a driving license. My family lives 700 km from here, so it would be nice to take the car there on the vacations.
- The next thing to do is to get a job! If i can´t find a job here for a .NET developer, I will do anything to get customers on my own. From 1 january this year I have my own company. :)
- Get a new compultr! I really need a new computer. I really do need a laptop that I can use both for personal things like school, and for job-related stuff like programming. If there are anyone out there with too much money, you now what to do. ;)
- Learn new techniques better! I need to learn more about AJAX and WinFX. I have been using Atlas for a while, but need to read more about the functions. When Chris Anderson releases his new book, I will go buy it directly. Any tips on a WCF book, anyone?
Happy new year!
