Mix06

I was just checking out the Mix06 conference site and while it sounds very Web 2.0'ish I'd love to go.  Why?

Look at this line located in "The Facts".

The latest on IE7, Windows Vista, Windows Media Center & Xbox 360, InfoCard, Windows Presentation Foundation, the Atlas AJAX framework and Windows Live!

Why is this interesting to me?  Because they'll be talking about Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF, aka Avalon!).  WPF will eclipse the AJAX experience, IMO.  Will they be talking about WPF/E (E == Everywhere)?  Maybe, I don't think that it's baked to golden brown yet, so this one will probably stay in the wings for a while.

However, why WPF is not a discussion bullet is beyond me.  (Actually I'm sure they'll be discussion, I just think it should be on the front page!)

So here are two bullet points for WPF for "The Discussion".

  • How can I provide a superior experience from the web, to the living room and on my computer using WPF?

  • Sparkle or Cider - Who's going to use which?
