More on Pocket Blog Writer setup files
My previous post was admittedly somewhat cryptic: by way of explanation, I was performing an experiment during my lunch hour and I was in a hurry to see whether the application had installed correctly, so I didn't spend a lot of time on content.
Up until now I've been distributing the program solely as CAB files. This is fine for many simple scenarios, but it becomes frustrating if you want the option to install to a non-default location (for instance, the new iPAQ hx4700 has a very large iPAQ File Store but less actual RAM, so the ability to install to the iPAQ File Store is a big plus that case.) The new build includes setup and .msi files that enable installation from the desktop, along with specifying the installation location.
This evening I've been doing some work on the web site where I intend to host the files from now on, which should make things a bit easier for people who want to try out it out or upgrade from an earlier version (or for that matter, go back to an earlier version where available).
