Wally McClure who apparently has a few minutes between writing books and creating podcasts has just released a new web cast on advanced ATLAS development. Wally covers ATLAS databinding, the much talked-about UpdatePanel and gives examples of JavaScript inheritance, namespaces and interfaces in ATLAS. Weighing in at around 45 minutes this webcast is great for a lunch time training session!

I was at a client's office this week when they told me about a practice they employ to in order to give their users the warm fuzzies. The client has some users who are using a new application which replaced an old system that printed reports to a dot-matrix printer. When the new application went live the users liked it, but were disconcerted because they were never sure if the reports were printing correctly. Why you ask? Well the answer is obvious - the users couldn't hear the new laser printer printing the reports!
So what was the fix? Well there really isn't a fix for something like this, but I love what the developers came up with. Now in the new application when you print reports the application plays a sound file of a dot matrix printer printing! It simply does not get any better than this :)
