Thanks to all the attendees of the SharePoint for Developers VSLive post conference workshop last week. I had a fun time with it even though I was a bit under the weather.
I felt a little bad as Paul Sheriff and I discussed the difficulties developers face in developing SharePoint web part, trying to create a true development, staging and production environment and the little designer support you have when creating web parts. While SharePoint can be a bear to develop in, there are many satisfying moments as well. Just make good use of NUnit :)
We had a lot of great questions and I suppose one of the best things I took from the session is how much we have to look forward to the ASP.NET 2.0 implementation of SharePoint!
While doing research for my last post, I ran across a great article by Ryan Tomayko. In this short story he recounts a conversation he had with his wife in an attempt to understand REST. This post is great not just a great example of how share something technical with a non-technical audience, but a great refresher on the technologies that make up the web.
How I explained REST to my wife...
New podcast coming soon, really!
