[OT] Help a London Child BUPA Capital 10K run

This is not .NET related so please feel free to ignore if you wish.

Anyway I've been talked into (you could possibly suggest somewhat foolishly) doing the Capital FM 10K fun run by my wife which is a sponsored fun run is in Hyde Park, London, UK on Sunday 5th June 2005. As I am now committed to doing this I think it would be a good idea to take it seriously to raise some much needed money for the charity Help a London Child which the run is in aid of. I'm sure you all have your own charities that you support so please feel in no way you have to sponsor me but if anyone would like to donate, it would be greatly received.

The organisers have a fully secure website set up for me where you can make your donations here:

sorting/filtering strongly typed collections

Someone recently asked on a mailing list I'm part of a good way to deal with sorting custom collections. For sorting/filtering strongly typed collections I came across this from Brendan Tompkins which is a class that allows you to drop your collection in and do sorting/filtering. I've used it and it works very nicely.

Branching

A nice series of articles on this topic being written by Eric here.

debug and step through custom installer classes

Well I've been banging my head trying to debug a custom installer class I've written, then eventually after some serious google hit and miss I came across Josh Robinson's WebLog, more specifically this entry. Wonderful, works a treat!!!

Thanks Josh!

Virtual PC Base Image technique

David Cumps posts about using a readonly base VPC Image and then having children images that only contain the additions you make for that child image. Could come in very handy for cutting down disk space used.

There are of course some drawbacks (see the comments re windows updates) but it's still something that I think I will use. Good stuff!

objectmapper 2005

Came across this on the Daily Grind. Looks like it has a nice UI, gonna install it when I get a chance and have a play.

Colo(u)r picker

Maybe of interest, here is a nice colour (using the good old blighty spelling) picker to help you figure out compliment and contrast colours.
