It always a contentious debate whether the H1B visa program is hurting or helping the US economy and workers.
eWeek has written an editorial of what can be done to improve the program. It calls the program an indentured servant program but does not clearly provide the solution.
Here's mine:
An initial H1B visa should need a sponsor. After 1 year of working the sponsor, the visa holder should be able to hop jobs (with sponsorship, of course) just as regular folks.
That, I believe, would bring competition into the market.
What do you think ?
